Limited edition Ruger Speed Six

Hey, guys. I've been lurking for a while, but am just now a registered user.

So... I just picked up a sweet stainless 2.75" speed six with a 3-digit serial & limited edition Alabama State Trooper's association engravings in a really nice solid wood case with purple velvet lining. I have, at last count, around 10 variants of the 'Six' series, including one of the elusive 9MM models - unfired - as it will likely remain. I can't seem to find ANY documentation on this LE model anywhere. Anybody know anything about it?

I'm not sure if I over-payed for this one or not, but it's pretty neat.

If its indeed unfired and you have all the accoutrements I'd guess 600 bucks or so.

Pretty sure this one has been fired, my 9MM blued Speed is unfired. This was an auction purchase, which I usually try to avoid, but what the hay. I'd never seen one before. Probably won't be in for a few days, but it does have all the papers as well as a letter of appreciation from Bill Ruger to the Alabama State Trooper's Association. I'll end the suspense. I paid about $400 for it.

That's a nice looking Speed Six you got there. It's definitely a collector's piece but there's little doubt it's a shooter, too! Good price at $400 for that one.

Actually, looking at GB auctions, I can't find one cheaper. Not even well used examples. $400.00 just may have been a deal! I do plan on shooting it, & it may even see some serious holster time. We'll see.

This selective fire revolver is fed by a 48-round helical magazine, which interestingly enough, is transparent. The six-round cylinder is where the rockets are housed.

Wear gloves when you select "rockets."
