SR 4756 substitution?

Yes, I am new to reloading. I have read the Lymans 5th edition from cover to cover and looked over the fourms... I still cannot find my answer.

The shotshell I would like to make is with REM STS green shellls 2 3/4" 26grs with REM 209P primers, RP12 wads and #4 buck.

The powder required per the book is SR 4756... which I just found out is not so easy to get in my area (Los Angeles).

Can anyone recommend something that will work safely for this load? I would prefer something that I can get all the time.

Thanks!

I thought it was discontinued in early 2015. (could be wrong)
Go to Hodgdon's website and they have loading for their new powders.

SR4756 was discontinued in 2014. Discussed at length on a bunch of forums in 2013 and earlier. It appears Hodgdon has discontinued all IMR shotgun powders. None listed on their IMR site.
Lyman's 5th Edition of shotgun reloading Copyright is 2007. Surprised they haven't upgraded it.
Anyway, Hodgdon's site suggests HS-6 for #4 buckshot.

Are you trying to get your powder @ Turners? Selection there is pretty much Alliant last time I looked. You might also need to reconsider your wad since a powder change will likely change that choice.
