Crimping
My first AR-15 was a Colt SP-1 that I fired thousands of my reloads through. Recalling that I was fond of 55gr Speer soft points and H-335, however I don't recall crimping any of my reloads. Currently I fire commercial promotional 5.56 from Winchester, 55gr, white box, and 62gr. russian. I would like to start reloading for my current Mini-14 but it appears that not crimping reloads can result in blown up shooters etc. I was wondering if anyone reloads for an AR-15, Mini-14 or other military like rifle that doesn't crimp his rounds and if you have any trouble with it.

I crimp for lever guns and revolvers. I don't crimp for bolts or box magazine rifles.

I asked the same question a few days back. This thread may help.

Thanks all.
Thanks UTex for the link. I was wondering, after reading the comments if you decided you needed to crimp or not? |

No Crimp
I'm into the thousands in reloads and never crimped a single one. Hornady 55 gr in FMJ, SP, V-Max for M&P 15 OR, Sport and Rem 700 ADL Varmint. 100% function!
