Pistol Comparisons (pic heavy)

Since questions come up from time to time concerning comparative pistol sizes, I've decided to share various images of my collection stacked against each other from different angles.

Some of these pistols you are going to see are no longer in the stable per se, and there are a couple I either just recently acquired or will acquire soon but have no photos like these yet (CZ 2075 RAMI BD, Beretta 8000D, S&W M&P Shield).

For the record, I am granting permission to any of you who wish to copy these pictures to do so in the hope of it helping assist with any decisions towards getting/not getting a certain pistol or, to assist when you are having a friendly debate with a friend or associate lol.

WARNING: Lots of images coming!

Through some pic editing, this shot shows the Walther P99C, Ruger SR9C, and Glock 26 with their big brother's full-size mags compared to their smaller ones.

This got me thinking, they should make this a sticky thread where people can request comparison pictures of pistols they may not be able to find online.

Agreed. A sticky would be great.

How about a West German P226 9mm with E2 grip VS a Steyr L9-A1. The 226 weighs 31.2 oz and the L9 27.6 oz. Both empty with factory 15 round magazines.

Steyr disassembly, though doing it one-handed takes practice, as the take down lever is backed by a pretty stiff spring!

Grand Power P1 Mk7 disassembly:

CZ disassembly (P-07 shown). Punch is not needed to push out slide stop/takedown pin. Corner of magazine base plate works perfectly:

Here's one that been done a million times before. The Walther PPQ M1 VS the HK P-30. I guess if someone wants to compare the CZ P-01 to the HK P-30 they can cross reference a few different ones all in one post to get a rough idea.
The HK P-30 weighs 26.4 oz and the PPQ is 24.2 oz. Both empty with factory 15 round magazines.

More great shots Worc!

Whenever I get back home I'll do a few more with new additions/comparisons including the RAMI, SR9C, S9-A1, P99C, and Beretta 8000.

Do you guys know if any of the Steyrs would fit inside an Octa Versipack? The S-A1 should make it, but what about the M/L-A1 with the 15 rd flush mag? I am looking forward to buying either a PPQ and a Steyr, or 2 Steyrs. Would really appreciate any experience, thanks in advance.

Just looking at the spec's of that fanny pack, it looks like any of the current Steyr models or the PPQ should fit just fine.

You are a chosen one. You have a P99c. Impressive

Okay, I'll say it. The PPQ, with it's often said HIGH BORE AXIS, sits in an area exactly same to the LOW BORE AXIS cz. Am I wrong?

Geeze, the P30 slide looks huge/fat compared to the PPQ.

Yes, I would say the CZ has a higher bore axis than the PPQ. Goes to show just because a gun has is short slide height, does not automatically mean it has a low bore axis.

The slide on the P-30 is only .04" wider than the PPQ and the PPQ is only thinner overall by .01".

My apologies for the graininess on these, but I zoomed in on a couple of old, in-hand shots of the Steyr & PPQ.

Comparison of my grip on a Steyr M9 (identical on newer models), Gen 3 Glock 19 (my preference is Gen 4 models), and CZ P-07. The red lines are there simply to demonstrate hand position, by showing my trigger finger knuckle location, as well as the 'wrap-around dimple" where the webbing of my hand actually starts it's wrap around the backstrap. I've never personally suffered "Slide Bite" on a Glock, but I can see where the concern is for some.

Excellent pictures and comparisons. Wonderful job.

But it all makes my old head hurt.

By the end, they all look alike to me.
