I agree that the midlength gas system is the way to go with a 16" barrel.

If I ever scrape up anymore gun money I'm going to go with Aero Precision for my next AR purchase, but I'm just frugal like that.

I have owned several Armalite rifles, never had a problem with any of them.

I love people who put AR's in tiers like this. There are 3 tiers, but they don't line up like that. One that makes quality parts to military specifications, one that exceeds mil-spec and one that does not meet mil-spec.

AR's are leggos, every part is built to a specific tolerance and can be installed into any other AR as long as it is built to spec. 1911's are a different story.

Nanuk...

Yes, that is very true... But breaking it down into three years is a much easier concept to convey to a new shooter/buyer than the more nuanced reality of the subject.

After you learn the basics, you can move into the finer details.

better they learn the truth from the beginning. It cuts down on snobbery and misinformation.

There is more snobbery with the AR than any other firearm.

It just kills some guys that a man can buy a cheaper gun and get good service from it...for HIS use.

Honest to goodness...the internet commando's come out when AR is mentioned.

If the lower level AR's were as sorry as some folks would have you believe, these companies would have been out of business YEARS ago.

First off, I am amazed at how civil you all have kept this thread.
This is not arf.com .....
