Polymer Front Sight on Saint Pistol in .300 BLK?
I have a Springfield Armory AR-15 Saint Pistol in .300 Blackout inbound.
I will have a red dot sight as primary but will want back up sights. I like the price point on polymer sights but am worried the front sight will get too hot mounted on the top front rail of the hand guard. Anyone have a polymer backup front sight on an AR pistol? |

On the rail is absolutely fine. As long as it's not one of those railed gas blocks, you're good to go.

If you're talking about the standard free float tube SA puts on the Saint 'pistols', you'll be fine. (As long as you're not doing mag dumps and overheating the firearm, anyway.)
Gas block = could be a problem. I'm not sure where they went. Perhaps they were on a rifle that I sold... But I had some of the early Magpul knock-offs from ... Tapco(?). I actually preferred those plastic sights to standard sights, and even some aftermarket options. They were cheap and looked the part, but worked very well.
