Yep, even carried a couple of times when I was going places that said "NO GUNS". Haven't had a problem yet, but then I'm willing to have a problem if it is required.

Sorry I'm not a law breaker normally, but a couple of times it's happened with out my knowledge that I've carried where I wasn't supposed to. Like Malls or such that don't get my business any more.

It's easy - even asinine - to moralize about the legality of carrying at those "NO GUNS" locations. [Shooter 973, like in your case, such places "don't get my business any more" either.] What places could be "holier" than churches? Yet, churches are NOT immune from encounters wherein guns could serve lifesaving [and thus soul-saving] purposes.

What's wrong with a decent, responsible citizen carrying a gun CONCEALED?

I don't carry often. In my state (Florida) you can't carry in places like bars, post offices, federal, state, local government buildings, schools, etc.

I carry 50% of the time I'm out of the house. I work at a federal installation and it is bad juju to get caught at the guard shack carrying. They do random auto and wand searches, so I'm on the road a big part of every day "naked".

I carry *legally of course) each time I leave the my property (10 acres 10 miles from town). I also carry most of the time around my land. Sidearm only weighs a couple of pounds, and the only times I have wished for a sidearm were the times I didn't have one.

Any other time I carry wherever it is legal, and in most places where they have a reasonable gray area, too.

I won't do anything blatantly illegal, but shootings happen in the strangest places anymore, and I (and those around me) will not be helpless.

No, I find myself ending up at a friends house having a few beers often, so I don't carry at night much. The gun only comes out for daytime errands, or mall trips. The one time I always carry at night is when I go see a movie. To think of a bunch of people caged like rats with some crazy guy or a terrorist armed with hi-cap mags walking in scares me. It's a perfect spot to kill a lot of people.

I have been bowling a lot lately. It really scares me to think how population dense it can be in a place like that with very few exits. Heck, maybe I'd just run and do the slip-n-slide down the lane and scramble out the pinsetter.

A little rant, the U.S. Military/government is the most anti-gun/anti-self defense organization I can think of! I know, I am retired ARMY and find it so retarded, no not retarded just stupid!

Crap runs downhill. They start at the top (govt. employees/contractors) and work their way down to every-day Americans and public.

Can't carry at work but I'll carry about 80% of the time after working hours. The possibility of coming home to an intruder has me considering keeping my gun locked in my car even if it is on company property. :barf:

6 people I know became victims of burglars while they were at home.

"Your safe at home" is a very common mistake. Ask yourself why you should be safe at home and you soon realize that there is no gound for that assumption.

Just my thoughts ... but while being surprised after having already entered a home without any indication of an intruder being present is one thing, having some advance indication before entering may be something else ...

FWIW, I've received some degree of training when it comes to searching and clearing residential/commercial structures and properties. I get frequent opportunities to practice these skills in the course of my LE duties, too.

At work I have additional resources available on a daily basis for such situations ... in the form of a partner, additional units (plainclothes & uniformed), K-9's and even mutual aid (should it merit more resources than available in any one agency at any particular time). Like many cops, I've been called to assist outside agencies in such circumstances, too.

I generally have more equipment available during working hours, too.

Naturally, like most other folks who think of such things, I've considered my reaction to returning home and finding indications of my home having been forcibly entered.

Unless I heard my wife inside calling for help, or had reason to believe she was actually inside and in immediate need of help, I'd call in the local agency and let them do their thing. They have resources similar to mine when I'm working, none of which I have at hand when I arrive home, in another jurisdiction.

Since the question was just Do you carry every time you go out?, I'll skip the what-if's of remaining home ...

Since I'm not required to remain armed off-duty, however, and there are still situations and circumstances in which I feel I do not feel it necessary, appropriate or simply desirable to be armed on my own time ... there are times when I choose not to go out armed.

This doesn't mean my usual awareness is in any way degraded or lessened, however, or that my ability to react strategically or tactically is completely neutered.

If I take the dog out or the trash out I have my G26 on me. I'm slowly getting my wife into that mindset also. So yes. If I step outside the door I'm armed and so is the wife.

I can't carry at work but they have no problem with it being in my car. One of my boses has CCW. Another wants to get hers. I've taken her shooting before and she likes it.

If you see me outside my house, I'm armed. No if's. If the problem comes up that I must enter an "official" building, its safely secured in the vehicle in the proper manner. As for those idiot "gun free" zones like stores and malls, what they don't know might save my life, or theirs.....church is not a problem, I come from the country. Most everyone has grown up with firearms in one form or another.
