Need gear for first handgun purchase...
I need to get some gear for my first handgun purchase. I am going to purchase the springfield xd40 in 4in. I wish to use this gun for IDPA, and shooting at the range. I know I need to purchase ear and eye protection, that will be easy to decide on. I need help on these things:
-I need a IDPA approved holster. Is the galco M7X MATRIX approved for IDPA? Would you suggest something differant? Along with a new belt I suppose or can I just use the belt that holds my pants up? -Do I need a range bag? Or can I just use my molded foam case that I use for storage? -Extra magizines, I think I would need some extra mags for IDPA? I would need a holster for the mags as well, I would think the ones without the flap? -Anything else that you can think of...... |

dont shoot competition so i dont know about the holster. range bag isnt a bad idea but that can be anything, a backpack would do if need be. get extra mags, and good ones. open mag holsters for competition. thats all i can do.

IDPA no longer has an approved holster list, just criteria that holsters must meet. The holster section is on page 29 of the IDPA Rulebook.
