Um, Im a little confused.. Are you referring to large extended mag's?

I personally only use flush pistol mags, on some guns larger extended mags make sense but not on any type of carry pistol and I think they're to large to be practical for carry even as a reload.

I have some 10 round mags for 1911s that stick out some.
Tried them but didn't think they were as much advantage over 8 rounders to bother with.
Maybe the 15 round versions might make more difference.

I have used magazines that extended beyond the grip during a training class. For example, a G17 or G19 magazine in a G26.
