Mike40-11: You are correct, Mike Graf of St. Charles Mo. is a nephew to Bob Graf who owns the better known mail-order Graf and Sons out of Mexico, Mo.

(Mike) Grafs Reloading sells to a lot of trapshooters in the area and travels to several midwestern State trapshoots the Grand American. I buy the majority of my supplies from Mike each year.

While passing through Philly this afternoon I stopped at Lock's Gun Shop in the northeast. A Good supply of AR's priced around $800 & up, hundreds of handguns (but I didn't check prices). I was looking for a Marlin 39a and they didn't have one but they showed me a like new Browning bl-22 for $475. Hundreds of new rifles & shotguns. Several good condition Win 94's and Marlin 336's in 30-30 and 35 Rem all priced around $450. A few in lesser condition priced cheaper. No 9mm ammo (I already have some), .380 priced at $29 for PMC and $30 for Speer Lawman. Didn't see any .45, .38, .357. I bought the one box of Rem 22 Thunderbolt for $4 My first time there and a good gun shop, so I'll keep stopping by when I'm in the area.

Found small pistol primers today!!!

Loaders:
I was beginning to think that small pistol primers no longer existed. I have two local sources of reloading stuff. Went to the first (local Bucheit store) and the reloading component shelves were nearly bare. Called the second (Ramparts Range in Pochahontis IL) and just about dropped the phone when he said he did have small pistol primers. And he let me by two bricks. With 2000 primers on hand I am back in 9mm shooting heaven.

Falcon Bullets

Ordered 1000 .38/.357 158gr SWC on Saturday 05/04. Got notice this morning that they shipped on 05/08. Excellent turnaround considering the lead times most suppliers are quoting. On their website it said "normally ships in 3 to 5 days". Pretty accurate in this case I would say. YMMV

I have been thinking we would see better supply days by this Fall. I am beginning to wonder. I just read where April was the 35th consecutive month of increase over increase of gun sells. This April sells were over 27% higher than April 2012.

With the continued increase of gun sells, you know there has to be a continued greater demand for ammuniton and other gun related accessories.

This news indicates we have yet to peak.

bubble will burst, sooner or later.

While it's true that with all the guns, folks will need more ammo but my understanding is that most of demand is in the nature of hoarding, not actual shooting.

Locally, my understanding is that range usage is less due to difficulty of procuring ammo.

Hoarding is likely less prominent than you may think.

Many people have buying and reselling to make money for what ever reason.
Some have procured large amounts waiting on the peak and are frenzy selling here.

My LGR has 50 round limit on 9mm reloads. They are quality reloads and i shoot my limit for about $28 including range and a target.

The selling price for 9mm has been about $30. So I go once a week, Shoot 50 instead of my normal 100-200 and all is well for me.

I have maintained my 150-200 round stock and did nothing to increase it.

Many of my freind's have done similar things or stopped shooting altogether.

The fear has subsided and they will catch up soon. When they do, it's reload time for me

Just want to give a shout out to my new favorite local shop, Bills Outpost in Maryville TN. I just bought two 50rd boxes of Magtech CBC 7.62x51 @ $35.99 each. That's about $10-15 cheaper than anywhere else including the Internet. Great bunch of guys down there, very fair and honest prices on everything in their store. They are a small shop but somehow manage to stock 10+ each of ARs, AKs, and M1As (I've serious never seen so many M1As in one place in my life!) If you're ever in the Knoxville area I highly recommend stopping in to check out their stock or just shoot the bull.

At academy sports the sales girl told me that every morning there are a group of 5 or 6 guys sitting in the parking lot at 5am waiting for the store to open so "they can buy 3 boxs of bullets".

I doubt they are reselling but I do not know for sure. Doesn't seem profitable to sit for 3 hrs a day for 3 boxs of ammo to me. What I don't understand is why they are there so early when those guys are the only ones waiting and they don't ever sell out till after lunch?
Maybe they enjoy talking to each other IDK and probably never will.

local Academy limits sales of popular caliber to one box per person per day but it's sold out by 10 a.m. or earlier.

curious how long they will remain available?

Got email from SWFA today saying that they have ammo in stock around 11 a.m.

About 3 hours later, got email saying that they are running out because folks were placing orders for 50-100+ boxes since they didn't place ordering limits.

Just moved into our new home in a very gun friendly rural area NW of Detroit. While in the walmart 15mins away, buying small trash bags and hair spray for the wife, I took a chance and asked a worker when the ammo shipments come in. He said theyll bring it out around 10pm and it always comes on Thursday's truck. Considering it was Thursday and the time was 9:30 we decided to head to the sporting goods counter and wait. There were 3 people already waiting and within 30 minutes several more showed up. At around 10:15 they rolled out a cart loaded with cartons of ammo. 100 rd packs of winchester and federal champion in 9mm, .40, .45 as well as 50 rd packs. A couple different kinds of .223/5.56 and various other calibers. Too our surprise they had a couple cases of federal and winchester bulk packs of .22lr. The wife and I left with 4 boxes of 555 count .22lr($24 each) and 2 boxes of wwb 100rd 9mm($24 each). When everyone was done buying there were still quite a few boxes of everything but the .22s. At least now when we run low we know where/when to get some.

I was in another walmart nearby and asked them as well but got no information whatsoever. I guess it goes to show that luck plays into the equation these days. I was told by another shooter I met that a different walmart a bit further out sets their ammo out at 7am on Wednesday after it comes in on the Tuesday night truck. These walmarts are in fenton and white lake michigan in case anyone needs ammo.

Went to Academy Sports today. They had quite a few AR pattern 22s. Lots of handguns. If you wanted a 45 not a problem. Numerous Taurus of all types. Beretta Nanos and the little Sig. Ruger LC 380. Ruger LCRs in 22,22 mag and 357. Beretta 92s and a bunch of 22 1911 patterns.

Ammo - lots of 44, 38 - no 9mm, 45 or 22. Probably bought out by the morning stalker crowd.

There was also AR, Glock and other mags. If you bought them at high prices during the panic - well, that's life. Prices about 5 bucks higher than pre-panic.

My apologies to the forum and the mods,I missed this 'sticky' thread and posted a thread on this subject.duh.

Awful supply here in Northern Virginia of any handgun rounds new in stores.

People in Walmart are calling in to friends who are managers for when supplies arrive to get them as soon as they arrive.

I hope this stops soon.

More 38 Special rounds out there ammo manufacturers please.

Cost IS a factor too-ammo that's priced ridiculous means I won't be shooting much at all.

(Thanks GM-I'll look before I post next time)

Around the general Madison, WI area there are plenty of AR type rifles around. Have also seen plenty of Century Arms (WASR and similar) rifles around.
Have seen a lot of magazines starting to show up in stock at various places again. AR and AK mags, various pistol mags, etc.
"Pocket pistols" are really hit or miss. With CCW being somewhat new in this state, the little guns are still a hot item evidently. If you want to pay $100-200 over "normal" prices, you can usually find a few at Gander Mountain. I'm in the market but have not been able to locate any of the hot items that I am interested in (Shield, XDs, etc) at reasonable prices.

Ammo is still a bummer. If you don't have a good friend working at Wal Mart, you're evidently out of luck it would seem There was a huge stack of 38spl WWB at Fleet Farm yesterday.
One box of .32 Auto and a couple boxes of .45ACP Federal SD ammo at Wal Mart.
Gander has recently had some 5.56 NATO of various flavors, at "one box per customer" limits. Tons of .40 S&W SD and some .380 SD loads at Gander as well. You have to hit Gander on delivery day to get anything 9mm or anything FMJ.

Local Big5 prior to closing this Friday had zero handgun ammo and zero 22LR. 223, steel cased 20 round, priced at $30. Rifle cartridges such as 300WinMag, 300Savage and some others were available but the quantity appeared low. Shotgun shells, as usual, appeared to be in good supply.
