WHOA... grip style change warrents new muscle memory...

I'm almost too embarrassed to write this, but I just switched grip styles on my 45 Colt Ruger Montados, to the Colt Lightning style grips... just put a couple cylinders through at "race pace" on my home range yesterday...

only averaged 2 out of 5 hits

guess I got a little muscle memory to work on... if I slowed down I could hit 5 of 5, but if I went "race pace" where I used to hit at least 18-20 of 20... I was down to the 8 out of 20...

hmmm... wonder how many rounds it'll take to get back in the groove ???

^^^ Now... that is a very good point... I was of course looking for something out of the ordinary, & in brass color, to match my brass & stainless lever action... ( not that the additional practice couldn't hurt too )

BTW... my Montados are the early version with the non SASS legal grooved grip frames from the factory... none of the local guys has ever given me grief, as I'm pretty average at best... but I always worry about shooting regionals, or state shoots, with the factory grip frames... so they were something I wanted to change anyway
