J.P.SAUER - Need help with identification

I have a J.P Sauer SxS shotgun serial number 226954. All i know about it is that my grandfather brought it back from Germany after the war. Can anybody tell me a little more about it.

Here's a chart showing German proof marks - see which ones are on your gun - might help narrow things down
