HF Tumbler problem

I got the single barrel tumbler and loaded the drum and started up the tumbler. Everything went fine for 5 minutes then I noticed that the barrel wasn't spinning. I shut off the machine and took the barrel off. The surface of the tumbler is dry as a bone.

There is a plastic/rubber sheath on each of the two shafts. When one of the shafts turns, the sheath remains in place and doesn't turn. It's almost as though the inside of the sheath is greased or lubed and the it can't grab ahold of the shaft which continues to spin.

Any thoughts how to remedy this?

Did you consult the instruction booklet?
The belt tension may need adjustment.

The shaft is turning just fine. It's the rubber sheath on top that should be "glued" to the shaft and isn't. So, as the shaft turns, the rubber sits there.

I think what i need to do is to somehow remove the shaft, then remove the rubber sheath and clean then both and make sure whatever that is inside and gone. Maybe even glue the sheath to the shaft.

I looked at it for about 15 minutes and couldn't figure a way to do it.

Walk it back into Harbor Freight and show them. Walk out with a new one. I have one of the doubles but have never had any problems.
