William Powell 12ga Double Barrel
Hello All---I am an Australian, and a Handgunner.I have a mate who is selling all his guns (15)--mainly handguns, which I know about, also some rifles--which I know a bit about, and two shotguns, which I know nothing about.I think I'll buy the lot,but this old piece, the William Powell gun is a mystery to me.The other one is a cheap .410--good for snakes I suppose and probably worth the US$ 50 he wants.
I would be grateful for any info about the William Powell gun though. |

William Powell is a Birmingham gunmaker that is still in business. Go here for more info including valuations:
http://www.william-powell.co.uk/comp.htm Shotgunning guru Michael MacIntosh in his book Best Guns (Revised Edition) had this to say about William Powell, "Powell guns of every period, from the 1830s to the 1990s, show all the craftsmanship and handling dynamics that best guns should." |
