Henry sight removal?
Just got a Henry H001 .22, and want to change out the front sight. I have unscrewed the only screw that holds it on, and for the life of me I can't get the thing off. I don't want to damage the finish of the gun. Anyone have any experience with it?

Did you try break-free or penetrating oil?

Not yet. I'm thinking about a scope though too so I may just leave it be. I might find a lever action forum and see if any henry enthusiasts know anything. I am refinishing the receiver and the barrel band should match too and the sight has to come off for that.

Its just a standard H001. The scope mount is part of the receiver cover. All I need is rings and a scope for that. I just stripped the paint off the cover and am going to clear it. It'll look like this when I'm done

I have the golden boy and I am thinking about order the scope mount from Henry for $27.00. It mounts to the barrel, not to the receiver. Has anyone done this ?
