Fixing a Beretta 687 stock fading problem

I purchased a demo Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon II from a local range, and in their infinite wisdom they had put a sticker on the stock. From what I can tell, it appears that the area not containing the sticker faded at a higher rate than the area with the sticker. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this without doing a full strip/sand/etc.? Thanks in advance. Pic attached.
