Winter carry, any changes?

Just curious if any of you change anything g during the winter months? Carry position, ammo, multi mags or a different gun or two. For me I may occasionally use a shoulder holster but everything else stays the same.

As long as the perceived threat is the same, what reason is there to change what you carry? Winter clothing doesn't stop bullets- not even little ones.

I tend to go with OWB instead of IWB and change carry position from ~4:30 to 3:00. Jackets make concealment a breeze.

I tend to carry my g19 more in the cooler months. Not because of the size but because it's a rtf2 frame and I usually wear an under shirt when it's cool

not really

Winter cold tends to drive the local riff-raff indoors.

Yes. I tend to carry my compact IWB over the summer months, then switch to a full size carried OWB under a coat for winter.

In the cool months; which is maybe - maybe - three here in the California central valley, I carry my S&W 686+ (357 Mag revolver). I'd carry it year 'round if I could conceal it with light clothing.

In the warmer months (most), I carry a Kahr CW9. Fantastic little gun; but I'm most comfortable with revolvers.

I use my polar fleece lined holster, wouldn't want my gun to catch a cold.

I carry a 1911 IWB plus two spare mags and a PM40 in pocket with cargo shorts and loose untucked shirt.
Wearing a sweatshirt doesn't make it harder to conceal.

+1

When really cold, I add or only carry a pocket gun on the outside pocket.

I try to utilize , coat pocket carry .. and take advange of extra layers and tote a bigger pistol ...
Being that darkness comes earlier.... I feel its more important to carry ( it's always) important to tote a handgun .. But more so when its dark ...

Being that a DG will be wearing extra layers . I try to carry a 40 S&W , 45 acp or 357 mag over a 380, 9mm or 38 spl

Thats just me ..

G17 winter, G26 spring and fall, Shield summer. Or a revolver when the mood strikes or for the woods.

Nothing specific, but I don't have to think about my CC for the day so much in the winter, which is nice. I usually carry based on my outfit, as I'm very particular about not printing. 3/4 of the year that means that I need to figure out where on my body I can carry based on what I'm wearing, which in turn influences which gun I carry. My LCR is great in the small of my back in jeans, a P238 is the biggest/ heaviest I can really get away with in a lethal lace thigh wrap if I'm in a dress, and a G27 in a flashbang is pretty much my go-to in leggings. Heavier/ looser clothing in winter means I can just throw whatever the heck I want in an IWB or interior coat pocket and be on my way. It is glorious.

Bigger gun is all...OWB year round with a Smith M60-3" in summer, and a Sig 1911 RCS in winter. No extra rounds, magazines etc....I live in KY not Beirut (or Chicago!)

I generally carry a G19, but during warm months I will sometimes slack off and go with the G43 because its easier to conceal under light clothing. That's seldom an issue in the winter.

Simplicity is good but so is adaptability. If you live in a place with seasonal weather and wardrobe changes, I think it makes sense to have two or three good carry guns to cover those different environments. Besides winter sports, an upshot to freezing cold is more relaxed selection criteria.
