I'm carrying Sig v crown. Look at them. I'm complaining convinced that the design is good. As long as the metals are right. A test that I read tested them against the host, and the host functioned PERFECTLE. the Sig performed will. The Sig seems to be velocity sense, and time may change that.

The perfect petals on the hst allowed deeper penetration. The 9mm was not adequate. The main reason I like the Sig is that the flatter crown ma be better on settings other than calibrated gel, such as light barriers.

Mine are loaded with the white box Q4369 government overrun Winchester 180gr hp's. No problems ever in my 96 Beretta or S&W Sigma.

I've been carrying 180gr GDHP, but I'm going to switch to HST when I can get a good deal on some from Massammo, they've been out of stock for a while now.

This might put a different spin on things but if you also use a .40 S&W carbine, does that change your choice?

I loaded up some Nozzler 150 grain HPs and they sure looked like they would work just fine. I do not have ballistic gel so I used phone books.

I've seen people shoot 9mm in a 40 barrel but how are you getting 45ACP in a gun chambered for 40?

I dont. When I snap out of it I take the .40S&W to the pawn shop and pick up a 9mm or .45ACP

Good info. I've shot quite a bit of USA JHP, 40 & 45 into water jugs and got exactly that type of performance. I deem it excellent ammunition, usually available at a decent price.

Since you are looking for penetration you should take a gander at Hornady FPD if they still make it.

IMHO it's gonna be good enough most of the time the problem arises when barriers and bone enter the equasion thats when the old technology looses jackets or doesn't expand.

Besides if you shop around you can find the premium LEO overruns/surplus for about what wally world gets for WWWB

I don't care if it looses its jacket so long as the core keeps going.
