DPMS 5.56

At a prior thread I posted a link of DPMS that was on sale. Here is the new link again valid until tomorrow. Only use for paper target at range.

https://www.dunhamsrewards.com/coupo...tm_term=Oracle

Hopefully this is not a dumb question but being a 5.56, I can use that cartridge and the .223 right?

Yes... a 5.56 chamber can be used with both .223 and 5.56 ammo.

And that is a heck of a deal.

I don't recommend doing it the other way ( 5.56 in a .223 chamber ) simply because some .223 Match chambers can have little to no "freebore".

But, Lol... that is another long conversation.

I have one of those, it's a very serviceable rifle. It's nothing fancy, mind you, but I ran 1000rds though mine at Christmas as sort of a shakedown cruise and it never hiccupped once.

My only complaint with it is the barrel... I shot a bit of slung prone fire and the bullet impact deflected, in one instance, 8" low and left at 100yds... but I chalk that up to the lightweight carbine barrel.

I bought an Oracle a couple years ago, for $500.

After about 100 rds. breakin, I bench shot a number of 5 shot groups and averaged 1.56", using Geco 55g.

After 5000+ rds., I benched it again, and got 1.6" 5 shot group, same ammo.

By the way, I've had 1 stoppage: a squib caused by a bad Fiocchi rd.
Most of the ammo I've run through it is Tula steel cased.

Thanks for the help guys.

My brother has also the same one I'm interested in and he also bought his over $500. We use Tula as well on his rifle.
