The 742 I am cleaning has a stuck barrel nut. I am about at a total loss on how to remove it, I think it is frozen on the threads by rust or some other gunk.
Can anyone help? |

Got to thinking, possible the barrel has reverse thread. some are put on that way. HJN |

Harley, how do I remove a nut with reverse thread?

Fal, not to argue with Harley but I've never seen the barrel nut on these anything but RH threads. I'm not saying they never made them reversed but I haven't seen it. I'd double check with Remington at 800-243-9700. But I believe that if you'll soak it with Kroil or another good penetrating oil for a couple of hours it will loosen up. George
