Brothers at war...

I bought an odd grandchild. The mother is in the center; she has a few children.

To the right is a child of the mother and an aunt to the rifle on the left.

To the left is a grandchild; her mother was named 59.

At some point in time the rifle on the right decided to have an affair in a place close to the the rifle on the left. The rifle on the left got a new but odd cousin. They went to war......

I can’t wait to pick this thing up!!!

She’ll be sitting beside her cousin in arms in peace.

I have always said "If you have to go Russian, go SKS or AK."

Can ya' guess the missing cousin? I'm picking her up tomorrow.

Well nobody wanted to play. Any who, it was China that helped Albania develop the SKS. All others were direct siblings of the Soviet Type 45...besides the Yugo 59/66. She decended from the Yugo M59...nit picky but whatever

I really wonder how many of these faced each other during the Balkan War.

The warring cousins reunited. Very very happy!!!!

The family reunion. Still missing a Romanian and a Yugo M59.

Thanks!!!!

That’s actually a VERY reasonable price but I have to pass for the moment; the Albanian ate my wallet. I’m walking it around the yard waiting for it to poop some money out! :P

She’s a pretty girl; 1978 all matching. I stripped her down and cleaned her good tonight; it’s in good shape overall. I’ve always heard that ’78 Albanians were hit and miss in the quality control department. When she’s together, she is as tight as a nun. When you are taking her apart she’s so loose that she belongs in a brothel! The gas tube release lever whirls around like a windmill; that’s fun when you are trying to get the piston extension and spring in place!!! :P The trigger is a bit mushy but its not too bad.

There were signs of rust residue around the barrel knuckles and the receiver. I cleaned her up with a little mineral spirits, rinsed and oiled her. It’s looking better now.

I could use some advice on preserving the shellac. The later Albanians are notorious for having sloppily applied shellac. Parts of it appear to be sun baked and starting to crack. What is the best way to preserve it without doing any additional harm?
