Anyone Refinished a S&W Grip Medallion?

Has anyone refinished a S&W grip medallion?

The medallion silver finish on my S&W grips has been worn off and the brass base metal is showing through. Is there a refinishing process to redeposit a silver coating over the bare brass medallion?

The brass color doesn't show-up well in this picture of the medallion, but it will give an idea of the problem. Most of the raised lettering and diamonds are down to the bare brass:

There is a product called "Rub-n-Buff". I think it comes in silver and gold...you'll find it in craft stores. I'm not sure how it will do on brass. Maybe try it on a brass key first. To get a real silver plate the medallion would be removed, cleaned, electroplated in a solution, (not too good for the wood so it must be removed). Maybe just order one from S&W. Good luck. Mark.
