Engraving machine
I am a 07/SOT looking to engrave serial numbers and logos on lower receivers. Does anyone know of an inexpensive machine that will meet ATF requirements.

Any of the large New Hermes machines will work. Check Ebay.
They aren't inexpensive, but you probably can find one for less than $500. You can also have stamps made, but they need to be used with the proper backing, so as not to bend your parts-as well as making the proper impression. |

Be aware that a jeweler's or trophy shop pantograph engraver will not meet BATF standards.
These are made to literally scratch letters and numbers in softer metal like aluminum and brass plates with a carbide or diamond tip. They will engrave letters and numbers into a stainless steel watch back but not deep enough. I have no idea what a laser engraver costs, but they do meet BATF specs, and work really well with logos. |
