Better check the specs.
I would be curious to know the specs on the ammo. I have heard some GI ammo is loaded pretty hot. Like some ball ammo is at +P+ or so velocity to make up for the shortcomings of useing ball? Nato spec ammo should be OK in a SIG, as they are used by militaries with same spec ammo. But if it really is hot hot stuff, maybe accelerate wear compared to puny white box ammo?

FYI, Ammoman's prices include shipping . . . and no sales taxes outside NJ. Also -- and I have purchased lots from Ammoman -- their service is outstanding.

Does anyone else find it curious that outfits like Ammoman are selling "United States Military Ammo" at the same time the U.S. is running its own Lake City ammunition plant 24/6 and buying stuff from the Israelis and British, all the while crying about how short our supply is?

Ammoman sells cheap, but it is probably more than what the government pays. Follow the money.
Doesn't say what maker it is. |

I got some USGI .45 from them a little while back. Its Federal ammo and its defineintly hotter than Federals commerical stuff. Shoots fine, and as was mentioned above, they are great to deal with.

It's Federal.
Still, at <$11.00 per 100 WalMart is cheaper.

Federal told me that M882 is about 1230 fps, and that the pressure is greater than +P.

M882 9mm ammo
I've always found that to be excellent stuff. It was all I ever used to shoot IPSC or IDPA matches with until I got issued a .40 a month ago.
And it makes my NFA Uzi SING. I chronographed some M882 ball at 1230 fps out of a Sig 226 a couple of years ago. As I recall, the velocity out of a Beretta M9 was very slightly higher. |
