May I suggest Fiochi FMJ they have a bit more power than American and flat nose. Work great in my 03 and in my CZ83

Thanks, I'll check them out. I was at the gun store and this was all they had at the time. Can't take a gun home with no ammo

Nice pistol! I'm not sure a .32 would be my choice for a home defense gun but if it works for you, that's what matters.

Well I have always wanted one, it was $200, the small round means I won't need to worry about it going through walls and hitting someone else. I love the way the gun feels in my hands and again it was only $200

$200 is a good deal these days. Nice little guns-very flat and concealable.

1903's

Love the 03's.
The one on left is from 1916 and I had to clean it up. It was ruuuusty!
The one on the right is from 1929.

Great shooters.

I guess there's a reason I like em' I read that a lot of better known people carried them. George S Patton was one and John Dillinger had one on him when he was killed.

WOW dreamweaver, I really want that '08 now. How did you get that to look that good? For the OP, why don't you get a .380 model too if you like the feel of the pistol and are worried about overpenetration. Just a suggestion because I would want the bang of a .380 over a .32ACP.

came from the factory like that. there were at least 3 different finishes for the 1908's this is the satin or flat blue. the gloss blue is even nicer! still a great carry gun, even today. small and thin. the .380 was the most powerful pistol round back then. nowadays folks think the 380 is too small for carry.

Sgt.Saputo, that's a nice pistol you have there. The Sellier & Bellot ammo you have pictured with it is good stuff. It's slightly hotter than the Fiocchi mentioned earlier, though I like both.
Here's some good info on .32 ACP: http://www.goldenloki.com/ammo/gel/32acp/gel32acp.htm
Regards,
Greg

The reason I didn't get a .380 is because I couldn't find one for the price I wanted to pay. The owner of the gun shop is a family friend so he have us a little discount . I know that when I get more money I'll be buying another one but with older guns like these you can't always find them. I took what I could get and I'm plenty happy with it. Something I don't understand is why everyone hates the sights, I love em'.

Please don't get me wrong. I think you got a heck of a nice pistol. And I would buy those at $200 each all day long.

Nice guns, I love the one I have. You got a bit more of a discount than most ! Must be a good friend - don't **** 'em off!

I don't know that I would choose a .32acp as my "bump in the night" round. Better than a broom, but not as good as a 9mm. Visit "the box o truth" for an entertaining and informative read on penetration.http://www.theboxotruth.com/

For about the same $$ you can get a mil surplus com block pistol in 9x18 makarov that does much better at stopping "night bumpers". You might want to get your C&R FFL license if you enjoy the old iron guns. That will allow you to have them shipped to your door, typically at a serious discount.

Enjoy the Colt! Fine pistols.

Yea you really do have a beautiful pistol there. I have always loves the .380 version because its a good little carry round. The .32 will suit you just fine and I mean how do you pass that up. Own a piece of history!

Yep I like the idea of owning a piece of history. It was made in 1919 and someone obviously used it, they took good care of it because it functions perfectly but you can tell it was used . Most of the blueing is gone, but that doesn't bother me at all . It's cool to try and think of all the people who could have owned this and what they could have done with it .

Exactly. It could have been the backup gun of some lawman/gangster from back in the days. Anything, I'm sure it has a great story behind it (too bad it can't tell it ). It wouldn't bother me either if it was worn a big that would add to the historic element. As long as it fuctions flawlessly its good to go. Now you are using that pistol, the first owner never imagined in a 100 years it would have such a long life. VERY COOL. I want the 380 version myself some time in my life, honestly it looks good enough to carry today. I love COLT's.

My dad and I had a good laugh from a picture of the papers that came in the box with an origional one. There was an add for machine guns where you could just go to the local gun store and order one in. Oh to live back then .

The wood grips look nice, I would love to find the origional mother of pearl grips for mine. I'm getting some custom engraved grip for this one, I'll post when I get them done .

I know it would have been awesome. I guarentee there are 100 times more AD/ND's today then there was back then. More people knew how to and used firearms on a regular basis. They respected them and rightly so. Also there were probably a lot less armed robberies because everyone could be packing. Man was I born during the wrong time period.

haha. I know why they call it pocket pistol now xD. I was just getting use to the safety and how the action works etc. And for no reason I just put it in my back pocket, it fits great! I love the way it feels in my hand and it just looks great . When I turn 21 this will be my carry gun .
