Glock slide cover plate

I was just looking at the custom slide cover plates at glock store and read that they're made of aluminum, I'm not sure how they put the designs on them maybe laser engraving but my question is, Glock says that everything in them fits metal to metal and plastic to plastic. If this is so then is there any problem installing an aluminum cover plate against the firing pin spacer sleeve and the spring loaded bearing which are both plastic? I see that the stock one is plastic covered with a metal insert.

It would be interesting to get some feedback from someone who has used one for long enough to be able to see if it's caused any issues.

My gut feeling is that it's not going to make any practical difference...

I've seen them around for a long time and no one seems to complain about them so they must work. I'd have one but when I look at other's pistols the cool image draws my attention away from the sights. I'd be having some senior moments on the range for sure.

Ha, I never thought of the distraction kind of like the navigation screens on cars. I guess they ought to give you a sticker to put next to it telling you not to look at it just to keep the lawyers happy. Thanks for the replies.

The striker is metal and rides in the same plastic sleeve that the slide cover would be in contact with so I can't see where there would be a problem.
