Your welcome!

Your welcome~ it's actually pretty neat to watch some highly skilled shooters/trainers go up against it. So far only a few have beaten the target.. ususally the target wins.. |

Cool. So, "Adaptive Target" means its movement isn't necessarily pre-programmed, but it adapting to your movements, too?

It's unpredicatable.

yes, it is NOT programmed so you can't outsmart it by observing its pattern. It is not predictable, just like a maniac on the loose! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dynam...84552631579376 |

A friend of mine was telling me about this thing a day before Compromise made this post. Not sure where he heard about it.
My question is, how well armored is the RAT? People drop shots while trying to fire quickly all the time. With the stress of trying to hit a erratic moving target, I would not be surprised if a shooter were to flinch before a shot and put a round right into that thing's hull.

It appears to be remote controlled. Although I like it and think it will be a great training tool, I can also see unfamiliar operators running the bot where they shouldn't and creating dangerous situations. Such as in between the two shooters.

Willie, I think I would rather the machine eat the bullet. If it was armored and the bullet ricocheted...

The phrase "shut up and take my money" certainly comes to mind.

The RAT is a specialized Robot for training of law enforcement, conceal carry, and military. Not that individuals don't have the opportunity to own it, but of course it is a two person effort, one for operation of controls, one for shooting. The person you practice or train with obviously needs to know and understand that safety is the priority over practicality and both persons should trust the other, and have common sense. |

Armored & Ricochet
I was only told this from my husband so read it in that tone of voice you would when answering a nagging wife's questions:
"It's armored well enough to take almost all pistol rounds" What about Ricochet? "No. It hits and splatters Same idea with shooting steel targets. Bullets are much softer than steel. So they basically splatter Now that splatter can send bits of lead, but nothing that would cause damage, and that's why safety glasses are always worn" |

Very cool.
We have used remote control trucks with balloons tied to dowels, which was pretty fun and good training... until someone (who may or may not have looked like me)shot a bit low

WAY too close for safety. Look how both shooters are practically pointing at each other.

RATs....
The RAT type systems have been around for a few years. They aren't really "new".
I will say the concept is impressive to condition shooters to fire on moving targets. The human eye is drawn to movement. To be reactive & able to handle a dynamic event is good training. |

At about 30 seconds and again at one minute the target moves rapidly toward and between two shooters who are firing quickly, and totally focused on the target. I could easily see one of them getting shot. It's a neat idea with proper control.
