Novak sight improvement for S&W 6906

I have a S&W model 6906 with Novak sights. Its a police turn in I bought at a gun store a while back. The Novak sights are dull to say the least and the sight picture is hard to pick up quickly. I want to clean up the 3 white dots. Any suggestions? I have used paint, white out, a good cleaning etc on other guns. Just checking for any help better method. Any advice will be appreciated.

Also have a S&W model 669 (6906 fore runner) -alike in almost every way except has a front sight forged/milled into the slide (no dove tail) and small rear sight. Any suggestions on improving sights on it would also be appreciated.
