Shotguns

My husband just bought me my first shotgun, an Italian made Verona, 20 gauge. I went last week end for my first lesson, in trap shooting. Never shot a shotgun before - and I hit 6 clays out of 25. I was thrilled. I am sore a bit in the shoulder, but can't wait to go again.

Home Defense only

I have:

Winchester 1300 Defender (Speed Pump), 18", 8-shot, full syn stock.
Mossberg Persuader, 20" with heat shield, 8-shot, PG grip Cruiser model.

Didn't want to waste money on Remington Express HD.

The Defender is better quality, has smooth & rapid pump action than the Persuader.

I have a Mossberg 500 that I like, and a Topper Deluxe Classic that I like, but you Remington 870 fans made me go down and I bought an Express. I needed it like another hole in my head. It's Dave McC's fault mostly--ha. I really wanted a 12 but I got a 20 since the others were 12's. I was trying to use a little common sense for once. I'll be glad when I get over this fever.

Mossberg Defender

I have been trying to find a good aftermarket recoil pad, and low recoil tactical ammo for it. http://www.photobucket.com/albums/c3/Patriot49/?

I was given a Winchester model 1200 pump 20 ga as a teenager and never could hit the broad side of a barn from the inside with that gun--but I know it was just me, because my boys shoot very well with it. I now have a Citori Lightning Feather 12 O/U and a Browning Gold Hunter 12 that I picked up used, and I'm much better with these two guns.
I think if I go back and try the Winchester now, I'll do much better with it. Mostly a matter of learning proper shooting techniques and developing confidence, generally.

1. Winchester Model12 16guage with full choke
2. Mossberg C-Lect choke 20 guage (dials between IC, mod and full chokes)
3. H&R Topper Jr 410 guage

Had an NEF Pardner 12 guage with mod choke--didn't like it and gave it to my friend about 2 weeks ago. Be a good starter gun for his collection...

Right now, I've got:

-Izhmash Saiga-12, customized, semi-auto, 19" bbl, 12 ga 3.0", interchangeable chokes, self-defense gun; backup turkey & waterfowl gun
-"NEF" Excel Auto 5 (Sarsimalz, Turkey), all camo, semi-auto 22" bbl, 12 ga 3.0", interchangeable chokes, for turkeys & waterfowl
-Winchester 1400, semi-auto, 26" bl, 20 ga 2.75", interchangeable chokes, for quail, pheasant, & dove
-Savage 24f, single shot break open (combo gun with .22lr bbl on top), 20 ga 3.0", fixed choke (of unknown diameter - anyone know?), rabbit/squirrel gun; backup upland bird gun
-NEF Survivor, single shot, break open (combo gun - rifled bbl for shooting .45 colt), .410 bore (67 ga), 3.0", fixed choke which is supposed to "un-spin" the shot, survival gun
-Taurus 4410, 4.5" bbl revolver, .410 bore (67 ga), 2.75", rifle bbl, no choke, snake gun

That's it. Oddly enough, have no more pump guns. Gave my Mossberg 500A pump 12 ga to my brother few years ago, and sold my Rem 870 express supermag 12 ga with 2 bbls, and sold my Win 1300 12 ga.

I came real close to getting a SxS CZ/Huglu Ringneck double barrel in 28 ga awhile back, but that SxS bug which gripped me thankfully passed....for now.

About a dozen or so of Browning Over-Unders:
XS Skeet model(5 of them) in 12, 20, 28 and .410 ( primary skeet/sporting
clays guns) - all with 30" barrels.
XT-Trap models all with 32" barrels / with and without gracoil system
BT-100 Trap gun - special model - 32" barrel

Krieghoff KS-5 trap gun 34" barrel
Older Krieghoff K-80 12 ga 28" barrels.

Pump Guns - variety - but another 18 or so guns:
Browning BPS in 12, 20, 16, 28 and .410
Remington 870's in 12 and 20
Winchester Model 12's in 12, 20 and 16ga

Semi-autos - about 8 I think:
Benelli super-sport in 12ga 30" barrel
variety of Remington 1100's and 11-87's in 12, 20 and 28ga

A bolt action 16ga - Westernfield - ist gun when I was about 9, I think.
Can't bear to part with a single one of them .........
