DFW Shooting opportunities

I live in Grand Prairie, Tx, and normally shoot at a local range in GP, or at Winchester in FW.
I am wondering what other opportunities there are in the metroplex to get outside the "lane" type shooting.
I'd be looking for any Match type opportunities or even combat training type opportunities in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Basically anything that would get me away from shooting down a lane.

Thanks,

Might be best to go to ar15, and ask on the Texas htf ( home town forum ). But, you might want to look at Tiger Valley.

Check out The Dallas Pistol Club. You do not have to be a member to shoot at the matches. It is a lot of fun. It's in Carrollton just off George Bush and Beltline.

I googled IDPA Dallas and came up with some nice opportunities. I think doing the same for IPSC, Steel challenge, etc. would do the same.

For the Austin area - www.krtaining.com has a match and range faq.

This is out east of Dallas a ways, but they have a variety of shooting matches, rifle, pistol, rimfire and shotgun. The range is private, but you can attend matches without being a member.

These guys are a little closer to you. They also have a pretty good variety of shooting matches, but no shotgun.

If you're looking specifically for IDPA, this club is fairly active.

Don't know anything about these folks, but it's probably worth contacting them.
