Tanfoglio Targa GT 380

I purchased this semi auto pistol in about 1986. It has never been used very much, and recently I took it out of the closet, cleaned it and took it out for some target practice. However, the bullets are not loading into the chamber properly. Could it be because it has a weak spring in the magazine? Is it worth locating a new magazine or should I just start looking for a new weapon? I want to obtain a new conceal and carry permit, but want to make sure that I have a weapon that will be work properly.
Thank you for your help.

I have one and it works but their are much better carry autos out their The 380 bersa would be a good choice smaller and lighter than yours Has a good DA /SA trigger around $300 most places. want smaller the KelTec in 380 or the Ruger recall copy LCP . KelTec makes a small 9mm also. All of these better than what you currently have.
I will say mine shoot well but would never carry it. I also got a few parts from one that broke frame in half.
But a new pistol
