New Sig P238..gotta say I love it!

Hey guys,

Not that I mean to show off but I got this beauty to replace a Bersa thunder and Berreta Jetfire that id sold over the last 2 months. Gotta say I am so happy that I bought this Sig to replace the 2 other guns. Even though I am apparently the third owner the gun looks beautiful and shoots even better than it looks. I am extremely impressed with accuracy and reliability for such a small gun after shooting 100 rounds last weekend! As crazy as it sounds this is probably now my 2nd favorite handgun after my Kimber TLE .45

If you are looking for a small, reliable, and very accurate ccw gun with a 1911ish feel to it than I definitely recommend the p238, just cant say how impressed I am with this gun! Anyone else share my opinion/or have anything bad to say about the gun?

You'll enjoy that P238. I really enjoy shooting it when my son brings his to the range. It handles the BB +P rounds very well. I'd like to have one.

Noticed that when I viewed your jpg's that the count is still at zero viewed. Curious the age of the gun. I haven't seen any Copperbacks in our area. Is that sensitive to Hoppes #9 like the Bersa Duo tone if it gets a knick (copper plating for the nickel)?

The gun was made in 2011. However sig discontinued the copperhead edition soon after 2011 if I am correct. Since I only cleaned it once its hard to say for sure, but I did use hoppes #9 and it did not seem to harm the guns finish.

I've got my p238 on my hip right now. It has turned into my most recent carry piece and I have nothing but good to say about it. It's very accurate and easy to shoot and totally forget I've got it on.
I've got the p938 as well but find that I carry my p238 more for right now.

Same here for me. I also have a P229 and a P250 but my small Sigs are my favorites.

My wife just picked up a P238 a couple of weeks ago. Very nice fit and finish with surprising accuracy and comfort for a pistol that small. We have only a shade over a hundred rounds through it so far, but we are both impressed.

They are EXTREMELY close in size, however, if you were to wear very lightweight, form hugging tops for summer, your answer would become obvious because just that small of a size difference makes the grip on the p938 print, whereas, the p238, conceals without any detection.
Now, if I were to wear a basic t-shirt or other style shirt that isn't form hugging, then there wouldn't be an issue.

The p238 is my favorite carry. It is the all stainless version with Rosewood grips.

The P238 is a lovely little pistol, after the first round of issues Sig appears to have effectively addressed them. I shot about 50 through the base model (blue steel, black grips) and I liked it a lot. Reliable, controllable, accurate. I like that my LCP (my daily carry and trusty companion) costs half as much, but if I had the cash I'd get the stainless SAS version in a heartbeat.

I originally bought a P238 Nitron but after my wife tried it it was gone!

So I had to replace it with the HD version with the rosewood grips.

Funny thing tho the Nitron has a much better trigger pull and feel (7lbs) and breaks clean.
While the HD is right at 8.5 lbs and feels gritty.
I hope its just a matter of breaking it in.
Both guns have had zero reliablity issues!

And I have to tell y'all, my rosewood grips I ordered from Sig for my p238 Nitron arrived yesterday and I put them on and it looks so much nicer now!!! I had black Hogue rubber grips on it. I fell in love with the rosewood when I bought my p938.
Now my p238 and p938 have matching grips!

P238, yeah, I know only some will like these grips.

Good looking grips.. been looking at some similar to them for a while now on ebay.

Enjoy your 238. I enjoy mine. Had some feed / eject issues when new, but after some shooting, they are gone.

I wanted a P238 for a couple years, but I could not justify spending that much on one when I had my TCP that was way cheaper and ran 100%.

Finally got it and made the mistake of having the wife shoot it. It was my gun for only a couple weeks before she took it over.

Gotta try to get one for me now.

By far my favorite carry gun.

THe P238 has a bit of a kick but lots of fun. Here is short video of a young friend of mine that I took shooting. She shot 22s, 380, 9mm and 45 that day but this is her first time with the 238.

Sig Sauer P238 HDW.jpg Here is my wife's new P238 HDW. I'm thinking of getting the 938. The HDW stainless steel frame ups the weight to 21 oz. Might help a little in taming the recoil for followup shots.
