P11 slide stop is too enthusiastic
Today after many hundreds of rounds (not all today) my P11 slide locked open with rounds still in the mag. That happened two more times out of maybe 50 rounds today.
There must be a spring that holds the slide stop and requires contact with the follower to move the slide stop. Is that the likely culprit? Need a new slide stop spring? Other more likely problesms? Thanks, Mike |

P11 slide
It is highly probable that your thumb is contacting the slide release. If not, then the slide release spring needs replacing--in a weakened state and with the violent recoil flip in this light pistol, the old spring can not overcome the inertia of the slide release jumping up from recoil.
After replacing spring, you might drill a couple holes in the slide release to reduce its mass and thus its inertia from recoil. |

thanks for the suggestions. I'll get a spring on order. this is +P ammo I was shooting at the time, which may be a factor. I don't typically practice with that, except to make sure it still functions and goes where I'm looking. Amazingly accurate little pistol once I learned how to shoot it. Takes some patience with that long but even trigger pull.
