Some new rifles

Picked these up over the last few months and finally got them together for a group photo. I fired the Lebel and the Carcano yesterday for the first time and they shot great.

From top to bottom:
-1886 Lebel (bring back from Afghanistan)
-Czech 98/22
-Gew88 w/ bayonet
-1915 Enfield Grenade Launching rifle w/ 1918 Wilkinson bayonet
-1942 Italian Carcano carbine

Our troops are allowed to bring back pre-1898 weapons. A lot of Martini Henrys, Sniders, and Lebels are being sent back to the US from Afghanistan where they are being sold at the local markets. I'm attempting to get in touch with the the soldier that sent the rifle back to see if I can get the bring back paperwork to go with it.

For the 8mm Lebel, is it possible to use spitzers in the tube mag safely?

Not unless you use surplus brass that has the groove in the rim to prevent the nose of the bullet from impacting the primer in front of it. I'm looking into converting my surplus 8mm Lebel brass to use boxer primers.

You can also reload Berdan primers (if thats what it uses). You make a simple hydraulic reliever, buy an extra case trimmer/decapper, and grind off the decapping end and you can find Berdan primers at roughly the same cost as Boxers.

Here for guide : http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting...ding/index.asp
