jacketed bullets

Can anyone tell me the best place to buy jacketed bullets in bulk (1,000-5,000)?

They can be factory or other brands. Thanks

I like www.westcoastbullet.com but they are metal plated, not jacketed. 9mm are less than $30 per 1000 but price depends on weight and style.

Do the plated seem to do as good of job as the jacketed , IYO?

Plated bullets can be plenty good .Each company plates the bullet with a differant thickness of copper. West coast bullets are about .010 of plating which is plenty. I like

National Bullet offers a pretty good selection of cast, swaged and jacketed bullets for a reasonable cost. Their cast bullets are a little under the stated weight ( but all weigh the same). When I called to ask the owner why the bullets were under weight for the caliber, he stated the molds were set for the normal alloy mix but the NBC use a higher % of alloy and so the bullets were a bit light. Makes sense, these bullets are hard. The swaged and jacketed bullets weigh as advertized. Their e-mail address is www.nationalbullet.com. Hope this helps. dgang

Montana Gold Bullets ( www.montanagoldbullet.com ). I have been using them for the last year since I bought a H&K USP and needed to switch from lead to jacketed bullets. They are very good quality and are extremely consistent. Their prices are really good also.

I'd also like to recommend Montana Gold bullets, if you really want jacketed bullets. I've also shot thousands of West Coast Plated bullets, but they won't stand up to the velocities that I'm getting with .40 Super. I use the West Coast bullets for range-use in .45ACP and .400 Cor-Bon.

I just got back from shooting some 180gr. Montana Gold hollow points through my G21, equipped with a .40 Super barrel. Accuracy at 100 yds was outstanding.

Montana Gold only sells in lots of at least 2000 rounds. If you want to try a smaller order, you can get Montana Gold from Powder Valley Services. (800) 227-4299

I can only say that several of my shooting buddies and I buy the West Coast bullets in bulk and we have shot over 100,000 with no complaints so far. The cost per 1000 is only a few dollars more than lead and the reduced lead exposure is worth many times that. For range use, I personally see little reason to pay for jacketed rather than plated but I typically shoot .45 so maybe the higher pressure rounds warrant it. Good luck.
