Who has a real A2 butt plate?

I've ordered two from reputable places that say that they are Mil-spec but they turned out to be completely made of plastic.
I remember the door being metal.

Not a big deal, but I don't want to guess the next time I want one.

Thanks

Mine is an Olympic arms and it has a metal butt plate and door. I know they have a parts section where you can order one

I believe Olympic Arms went out of business several years ago. My buddy could not stand the stock he got from Brownell's because the door was rubber, I traded my Colt stock for his to avoid his big tear drops I am not using the storage area on that rifle anyway.

You're right they did go out of business, I didn't know that.

sawlesales sells original Colt parts, to include authentic A2 buttstock plates. Like many things blessed by the prancing pony, not necessarily a great value.

Not too long ago, I bought a mixed lot of take-off mil-spec stocks on an auction site. They were about 50/50 plastic vs metal. You might try that option.

I don't love the prices, but this place has aluminium doors.
