LAR-8 review
I just received an RRA LAR-8 in trade today. It has 16" barrel with MBUS back up sights. I installed a burris pepr mount with a nikon 2-7x32 scope. I shot standing and prone unsupported. All I can say is I love it. No fail to feed or eject. The fit and finish is great. I'm a left so the ambi controls are a nice touch. I will be using this as a patrol rifle in a rural setting. Recoil was very easy on the shoulder. I plan on adding a micro dot to the top of the pepr mount at some point in the near future

To me the trigger couldn't be better. Crisp clean break.

Congrats on your new rifle! I've heard nothing but good things ab out RRA. The one I have shot have been accurate with zero failure.
A few questions... Any pictures of the rifle or the targets? Distance of targets? Accuracy? What trigger does it have? What ammo did you use? How many rounds? Break it down, how is the BCG and barrel after the range trip? Fairly clean/dirty? |

love my rra lar-15. just won an auction for a new lar-8 standard operator. should be in early next week. can't wait. i already have a nikon monarch x 2.5-10x44 in an american defense recon-s quick release mount for it. ordered a new magpul mbus gen 2 to put on it today. it already has the harris bipod. should be getting my new shooting mat today and my pelican case and 2 20rnd dsa mags tomorrow or saturday. this thing is going to be sick. only other upgrade i'm looking at is the gas buster charging handle. all i really want it for is the wider handle for easier access under my scope. i had ordered a bcm gunfighter, but i found out after the fact that it doesn't fit the LAR-8. that's my one complaint about RRA. their parts compatability blows.

Another Lar-8 fan in 16 inch. Really wish they would have a slower twist barrel for more options in bullet weight. The one owned with 1:10 does not like anything below 165 grains.

I am using cheap federal 180 grain ammo. Shot 100 rounds through it. Accuracy is excellent for a 16inch barrel. I was shooting about 1.5 inch groups at 100 yards. I'm going to play with different ammo brands and see what works the best. Also when I cleaned it. It really didn't get that dirty. I shoot from a picnic table with a harris bi-pod. The farthest I shot was 200 yards at a 16 round steel target.
