I posted this info on a previous thread.

I load exclusively 55gr bullets for two 1:9 twist barrels, 24" and 16".
Varget, CFE 223, X-Terminator, and Reloader #7 all work very well.
CFE-223 by far the best metering powder.
X-terminator gave the best performance for the 16" carbine. (fast burn rate)
Varget & Reloader #7 stick powders don't meter as accurate in a progressive as the others but still accurate.

Do a search on CFE 223 55gr. Good luck

I like it. Not a 223, but FWIW.

I'm loading it in the 8x57mm. Tested 160gr, 175gr, 180gr BT, and 185gr Rems. It gets those bullets moving. I am within Hodgdon's load data. Below is what I worked up to with no overt pressure signs. They are not the loads I necessarily use. I have backed down on certain ones accuracy. Besides, a 180 Nosler at 2650 will kill just as dead as it going 2790 and not run on the edge.

Shot from a M700 Classic
160gr TTSX, CFE223, 3.05 OAL, WLR Primer, Win Case, 2877fps (not max)
175gr Sierra, CFE223, 3.07 OAL, WLR Primer, Win Case, 2828fps
180gr Nosler BT, CFE223, 3.12 OAL, WLR Primer, Win Case, 2790fps
185gr Rem CL, CFE223, 3.01 OAL, WLR Primer, Win Case, 2645fps (not max)
