Ching Sling on Savage Scout?

Is it possible to replace the existing two sling swivels on a Savage Scout with three Millet Flush-Mount sling swivels so I can use a Ching Sling on a Savage Scout? I haven't bought the rifle yet, but if I can't install a proper Ching Sling, I WON'T buy it. For those of you who haven't used the Ching Sling, yes, it IS that good!

Mossyrock, I can think of no reason why not. You might go to the Ching website and see for sure but I think their stud sizes are standard. And even if they aren't, where there's a will, there's a way. George

Thanks George. My main concern was whether or not there was enough "meat" in the forend to mount the center swivel, and if any glue will stick to the material Savage uses for their stocks. Also, how big of a problem is it to shorten the length of pull on one of these new-fangled synthetic stocks?

Mossyrock, you should be able to install the center swivel with no problems. MPI puts an aluminum block in their forends for swivel installation. You might consider something like that if the stock does turn out to be too thin, but I don't think you'll run into that. Brownells Steel Bed is designed for use with synthetic stocks. Shortening the length of pull is like installing a recoil pad. Cut the stock to the length you want, shape and glue in a piece of wood about 1/2" thick and either drill screw holes in it or glue the buttplate to it. George
