Ruger GP100 sights
First of all this is the first time I've posted here so I apologize if it is in the wrong place. I purchased a GP100 not to long ago and I am in need of some good sights. I have plenty of revolvers but this is the first revolver that I have not been able to shoot as accurately as I'd like right after picking it up. I love this gun, it has every quality I was looking for except that the stock sights don't really work for me. I've looked at Bowen Rough Country sights and hi-vis sights and everything in between, I'd like to hear what others have found works for them so please comment. I'm also attracted to the "lockability" of the Rough Country sights.
And yes I have put multiple grains and brands of ammo through this bad boy but I still believe it's perfect match is still out there so I will be trying out different loads. Thanks, Matt |

I have installed Marble Green fiber optic front sights on 3 Super RedHawks so far. They come in 3 sight heights. They work pretty well for me.

I just swapped out the front sight with a Red factory Ruger sight. It's much better than the black front sight. It's perfect for me.

what works on my pair
I (and wife: WESHOOT2) use stock rear sights. Hers still wears the stock front; mine wears a Millett orange-ramp front blade.
The Millett front blade is my preferred front sight; at one time I had five Redhawks all wearing that blade. My remaining pair wear them. I tested the One Ragged Hole ghost-rings but found their OD too gross (ID matches my Caspian ghostring used on 1911s). I tested the Marble fiber-optic front and found its OD too large. Bowen offers superb choices. Check Brownells for other alternatives.

My 4" GP wears night sights from Meprolight. They work great.

I've been interested in the Williams Firesights for my GP100. This is what they look like on the GP100. Not my photo.

What are you looking for, target sight or more of a combat sight. Those William Fire Sights look real nice.

I just ordered the Hi-Viz front sight, so I'll let you know what I think of it.
The Williams Firesight above with that back sight, looks good. Resource ?? |

I put on a HiViz Piipe front sight that I ordered on line from Ruger. A snap to intall and worked great for me. I also had difficulty with the original fromt sight. They are about $27 in stock at Ruger

I ordered the Hi-Viz, but if it doesn't do it for me, I'll try the Williams. But, here's what I found when looking @ Brownells :
Willams Fire Sight (GP100) Brownell # 962-602-160 ......... $49.95 (Discontinued by the Factory) New version : Brownell # 962-000-093 (Mfgr # 70958) .... $59.95. (BACK ORDERED). http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=1...ct/FIRE-SIGHTS |
