Anybody have a snubby like this? pics
I'm referring to the shorty in the front of course - its a Pietta 1860 Army with a nose job. Cabela's had these several years ago and I got bit and had to have one. Comes with a brass loading tool that fits in the loading ram hole - works quite well. The one in the back is another Pietta from Cabelas and these both function quite well. The cat in the background was taken with my TC Omega - 45 cal sabot to the chest at about 30 yards - needless to say, she just dropped right there. This was incidental to a deer hunt a couple of years ago in Mississippi. |

Thanks
I saw a comment on another board about the belly gun that Josey Wales used was an 1860 - I wonder if this is a copy? That'd be cool.
I've seen that movie several times (and really like it - one of my favorites) but I thought the belly gun was another model.... |

ah answered my own question
It looks to be this model:
1849 31 caliber. Way smaller than a cut 1860... Here is a still of Clint with Josey's pocket heat: |

Does anyone still sell the snubby?
Sure like the looks of it. Noticed Cabela's doesn't seem to carry them anymore. Do they still make them? Haven't been able to locate any sites that carry them. When the time comes I can afford to get one I guess I'll saw a barrel down, get a conversion cylinder. Nice Looking Pistola though!!

muzzle blast
Yeah - its got some muzzle blast - but not too bad. I imagine that the flame is pretty prominant too, but of course the smoke kinda covers that during the day. Its a lot of fun to shoot
