need legal place for re-enactors to shoot (NJ)

Hi,
I am a historical re-enactor in Ocean Co. N.J. , & recently ran into this problem. I want to blank fire our flint & perc. pistols and muskets at a legal range. The state has WMA areas with shotgun ranges. The rules state that you can't use handguns but I talked to an official who said he didn't mind as long as we didn't use live shot, but I never got the permission letter he promised, just a copy of the range rules. I don't want to risk trouble so I'm kind of stuck. The legal, indoor ranges are cost prohibitive to boot. Anyone out there who has property we could use? Or know of other re-enactment groups running into similar situations? Here's our website so you can check us out. www.valhallaspirates.com Thanks for any help!

I would just drive up to a farm and ask permission.
Any good American would be delighted to let you. And he could watch also.

Shooting Blanks in NJ?

Rifleman1776, NJ isn't really a part of the USA

I can't address the OP's question, but I'd take the subject up with the local PD and Sheriff. And if the Club you intend to practice at can all agree. Enjoy the range time.
I moved from NJ 22 years ago and will never go back

The eastern states are rich in reenactment organizations and people.
I may be the only Rev. War reenactor west of the big muddy.
To be candid, it is hard to understand how someone cannot find people and places to practice their avocation.
There are numerous groups and on-line resources available to them. If it were me, this forum (TFL) is about the last place I would look to for this kind of help.
