Better bedding on a Sav.340.....
Can one eliminate the barrel band on a Savage 340 (30-30) ....and if so, how do you bed the action then? I have thought of welding a piece of metal on to the tang, providing a way to do a more conventional rear guard screw set-up...but also wondered if that's going a bit too far , for an old M340.......
