Two binoc questions???

I have 2 old 8X30 German military Hensoldt/Wetzlar binocs. One pair has fairly good "rubber" lens covers, the other one's covers have apparently dried out and been removed.

The other pair has a reticle in the right side with azimuth marks at 0, 10, 20, etc and 1/2 marks at 5, 15, etc. The only elevation marks appear to be 1/2 up and 1/2 mark down.

Questions:

1. Is there any way to replace the missing lens cups?

2. How is the reticle calibrated and used? (Mils, meters, moa??)
