I've always had this picture in my mind of some guy sitting in a courtroom or coroner's inquest as the judge, jury, and crowd stare at him while he describes how he bayoneted someone in self defense.

Simple, you didn't bayonet the bad guy. He impaled himself on the point of your bayonet all 12 times.

IDK... if the perp was close enough to you to get bayonetted, inside your own home... I think you have a pretty good self defense case As long as you dont chase the perp around the back yard you'll be ok.

I think you need to put a Barrett style muzzle brake on it like the Mossbergs.

Joke?
I'm new here but I'm not sure why this is considered to be a joke. Yeah, the bayonette is a bit over the top but I'd like to know where you got the light and brackett. Thanks for the post.

I actually have an 870 Magnum Express that is almost exactly like that one. Same synthetic stock and forend, same sling and the same tactical choke tube sticking out. Of course, mine doesn't have an extended magazine tube, flashlight or a damn bayonet on it... also I opted for a 5 shell butt cuff instead of the 6 shell side saddle.
What it all boils down to is... I'm under gunned! When the US falls into Martial law and zombie hordes roam the streets I'll be an easy target for them! |

This is the guns real purpose though for deer/bear.
But i like the fact that it can be changed for different purposes in just a few min. |

Well now. That last picture answers quite a lot of questions. Welcome to the forums fadetoblack172
Here is my tricked out 870. Its a basic older 870 Express Magnum with 870P parts. 18.5" barrel, Surefire forend light, Wilson Jumbo Head safety and hi viz shell follower, Wolff springs, XS 24/7 night sights with the "small" front dot, and a GG&G single point sling adapter. (No side saddle) The best thing about it is the action, which is smooth as glass. Rob

You can sigh all you want if you don't like the guns, or topic don't look at the thread. Everyone is in to something different. I use my gun to hunt deer/bear, small game, to target shoot for fun, and it's good for home defense, so..........it works for me.

It's cool you can go from deer slayer to bad guy slayer with the same gun. I think it looks good both ways.

I assume that is a detachable mount . What is the brand and model of the mount?

treefarmernc,
It looks a lot like the Remington factory issue "Tactical Light Fore-end" in the LE catalog. Last edited by zippy13; February 4, 2011 at 11:57 AM. |
