seating die question.

ok so i just got my Tumbler (the last major peice of the puzzle).... my first load of brass is in the tmbler now. I have 600 Hronady xtp jhp bullets, a bottle of w231, cci large pistol primers and my shiny new LNL AP press ...

so 185gr xtp hollowponts... do i use the flat bullet seat or the round one???

Either will work, the flat might be just a bit more accurate on hollow points.

.45 auto? .45 Colt?
I don't think it matters because either one simply pushes on the nose of the bullet.

Ideally, you use the a bullet seating stem that exactly matches the shape of your bullet nose. Some die makers will custom mold them for you. But most of the time you just use the one that you have that most closely matches the bullets you have and will not deform them.

Not deforming your bullet nose is one point. The other is to not tilt the bullets as they go into the case.

sorry guys .... yes i am talking .45 auto

pulled my cases out of the tumbler and emptied the media back into the tumbler, its ok to just leave it in there correct?

i need to set up the press tonight and maybe press a few rounds. i thinking 16 rounds to start (2 full mags) just to see how they function in my 2 1911s. then is all goes well press out the rest of the 600 bullets i have.
