I am looking to reload for my new gun, and wondered what types of powder seem to be good in the .308. Should I stick to ball powder if using a dillon as mentioned recently? With the adjustable gas system, I don't think I need a real heavy load.. Just looking for input the books don't provide.
Thanx!!

A good load is 150 gr with 41 gr of IMR4895.This gives you about 2700FPS and works well out of a FN.

I use IMR4895 and various bullets with my used Calvim brass for the STG-58.

I think the 168 gr Sierra match kings and the Berger 168 gr moly bullets did the best.

Some STGs have tighter barrels than others. The ones with the loose barrels want loong bullets.
