MP5 .22 Barrel Question

Hey guys, new here but had a general question about my 22 MP5 it looks like the barrel is not a complete circle I’ll attach a picture so you can see what I'm talking about. On the right side of the barrel it looks like it's thinner than the rest is this normal?

Welcome to TFL! Those two pictures seem to be the same, and I'm not exactly sure what we're supposed to be looking at here.

thanks and my apologies, I was having a hard time uploading the photos. Anyway, on the barrel itself it looks like the right side part of the cirlce is thinner, somewhat near the ejector port. Are they two separatre pieces? I guess my question is if it looks like a complete circle or cuts off?

That's a groove cut into the side of the barrel to accept the extractor and position it so that it grips the rim of the cartridge and extracts the spent brass correctly.
