Arshins into Yards?

Is there/how do I convert a Soviet "Arshin" into a domestic standard "Yard?"

According to this site (http://www.convert-me.com/en/convert...arshin.en.html) an arshin is equal to 0.7112 yards.

Strange, when I look there it says an arshin is .7112 metre.
.7777 yard or 28 inches.

The Soviets didnt use Arshins they used meters.Arshins were used in Imperial Russia and the Soviets switched over to meters after the revolution. If you have an M91 Mosin the sights will be in Arshins and if you have a M91/30, M44, or M38 or the various other models they will be in meters.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but it doesn't take a whole lot to punch a strange word into Google. It does seem to escape a lot of posters, though, doesn't it?

The issue is the math more than definitions here, but you guys know what I meant. Lol.

Yea, I know. Which is why I asked. I have an older one, hex reciever. My M44 has meters. I figured an Arshin was a smaller measure than a meter because the sight has a dozen or more graduations.

Thanks for the math info guys.
