Nosler 125 partitions in the 6.5 Creedmoor

Anyone done any load development for the Nosler 125 gr. partitions? I'm seeing H4350 come up in data for other bullets pretty regular. Anyone care to recommend a favorite powder?

When I was shooting the 120 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip in my 260 (twin to your Creedmore), I got best results with Reloader 17. That's very similar to IMR4350 in burn rate, so I understand, so 4350 should work just fine for you.

I use IMR 4350 In my Creedmoor with 140 Bergers.
I personally do not thing the Creedmoor has the velocity to necessitate or even effectively make benefit of the design of the Partition.

I can't imagine why Reynolds would say that a Partition won't work in a Creedmore. Surely you can get 2800 fps, or close to it from a 22 inch barrel or longer. That'll do just fine for most game smaller than Elk (and maybe would work for Elk, but that's not something I've hunted).

The only trouble I've had with Partitions is trying to find just the right load that'll make it shoot well. Like I said, Reloader 17 was the powder that worked for me, so 4350 would be a good place to start if you don't have any R17 sitting around.

What you said suggested that the Creedmore didn't shoot a bullet fast enough to need a Partition. By that, you probably mean that there's no reason to worry about a cup and core bullet blowing up, which negates the 'need' for a partition. Personally, I probably wouldn't feel the need to use a Partition in that round (or in my 260) unless I was worried about penetration in whatever large creature I was intending to hunt. But, I'd sure use a Partition in the Creedmore if I was elk hunting, or maybe I'd use an Accubond. Anyway...there's no reason to avoid a Partition.

I'm working on aquiring a Ruger Mk II Target; it has a 28" barrel. That should get the velocity where it needs to be for partitions.

About the bullets... I have six boxes of "vintage" partitions bought years ago off a closeout shelf. The cannelure is lathe turned into the jacket. The forward section, where the nose begins to taper to the tip, also appears to be lathe turned. Under a magnifying glass you can see fine lines from just forward of the cannelure all the way to the tip. I'm very interested to see how "old tech" works with "new tech".

I'm going to put them on top of 43 gr.s H4350.

My 260 likes RL-19 for 120 Speer, CL, and NBT, 125 NP, and 129 Hornady.
